Satko’s Real Food has this amazing line of seasonings that we were fortunate to be able to try (and there’s a GIVEAWAY. Note: contest has concluded. See all the yummy food we made at Satko Week) and we went GRILLIN’ CRAZY trying everything! The first packet we opened was the Lemon Pepper (see all their spices on their website). The lemon is tart but subtle….a really nice taste. The pepper is not over-powering and has the right amount of salt. This was really easy to use- Hubby liberally sprinkled the seasoning on and then grilled as usual. Usually Lemon Pepper has crunchy peppers in it that’s not our favorite but this didn’t have that at all. This is a great staple for the kitchen! The instructions say you can sprinkle it on pork but it’s good on any dish (we made Thrasher’s Crackers with it!).We also added it to the green beans which added a nice touch of flavor- no additional salt was needed.

Grillin’ with Satko’s Lemon Pepper & Sides

  • 1 steak for each person
  • 1 cup of frozen green beans per person
  • 1 package of croissant rolls
  • Satko’s Lemon Pepper

Preheat the oven for the croissants according to package directions and then when you put them in, cover the steaks with seasoning and gently rub in. Hubby then grilled it for about 8 minutes (probably a little longer than he should have but it’s OK…he hasn’t mastered the grill yet…ssshhhh). During the last 5 minutes of cooking, I put some frozen green beans and cooked according to the package for microwaving (hey- we were in a hurry!) adding a little Lemon Pepper for flavor. Everything should be done about the same time so now eat already!

We enjoyed using the BBQ with Satko’s Seasoning so much, that we had it AGAIN the next night but this time with their Signature Rub (which is part of the Giveaway this week!). I love this versatile spice! The Signature Rub is described on Satko’s website as “citrus accents that bring out the omega 3 acids found in or wonderful indigenous seafood. The orange peel and peppers highlight the flavors in these fish”.

BBQ Salmon With Quinoa Mix

  • 1/2 an onion chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1/2- 1 cup green mild sauce (according to taste)
  • Quinoa
  • Salmon
  • Satko’s Signature Rub

In a lightly oiled pan, grill your onion and bell pepper. Cook your quinoa according to package directions. Liberally coat your salmon with Satko’s Signature Rub and then cook skin side down 15-20 minutes- avoiding flipping (this is to avoid it flaking into the coals- if using foil, you can flip). While the salmon is cooking and after your quinoa is done, stir in the onion, bell pepper and green sauce then serve with your fish!

Not being a fan of quinoa, Hubby opted for a pasta dish and pork. He LOVED the Signature Rub! He said about his dinner “The Rub has a really good flavor with the (ingredients) green peppers and thyme really popping out. The seasoning didn’t dry out the meat and it tasted flavorful. For the Lemon Pepper Noodles- it made the noodles tangy but the peperoncinis were spicy so made a nice compliment”.

Pork With Rub & A Side Of Zippy Pasta

  • Pork
  • Satko’s Signature Rub
  • Satko’s Lemon Pepper
  • Pasta Noodles
  • Peperoncinis
  • Olive oil
  • Asparagus (about 4 stalks per person)

Preheat the oven to 450* and lightly season your asparagus with Lemon Pepper and cook 12-14 minutes. Hubby then took some leftover plain pasta, added a touch of olive oil, sliced peperoncinis, and a dash of Satko’s Lemon Pepper and warmed it on the stove. He sprinkled the Signature Rub on his pork and cooked it on the BBQ. These spices sure make cooking easy! Perfect for busy nights…
